In the Summer of 2008, Niemeyer and a team of artists, engineers and eductarors started the Black Cloud Citizen Scientists League to explore air quality and its relation to human activity through local sensing. A class from Manual Arts High School joined the League to learn about air pollution in their neighborhood. After their studies, they built model cities from found objects to express ecotopian visions.
