SCENE 3 INT.DAY MONA'S KITCHEN
Mona gets in the kitchen,
whistling or singing,
she
looks happy and excited at the same time. She
prepares herself a breakfast:
puts a piece of
bread
in the toaster, makes some coffee. Her
roommate, Lily wearing pyjama
and still sleepy
gets
in.
MONA: ( singing) Good Morning!!!LILY (
sleepy)
: 'morningShe sits on the table.
MONA: do you want
some coffee, tea ,
orange
juice
?
LILY:
cofee pleaseMONA: I
put bread in the
toaster
, want some? ( taking the tone
of a host of a tv
shopping channel) and
I have some terrific jams for you :
all
the flavours you can
only dream about:
strawberry, orange,
blueberry, lemon ...
and
I have peanuts butter and...LILY
(irritated) : right I
can take care of
myself
Thank you.
She grabs some cereals and put
them in a bowl.Mona
does
not seem to care about Lily's reaction.
MONA: hey you had a bad night?
LILY: well , yes in fact there
was that
neighboor's dog who was barking
all the time and
that very loud music they
played in that house
next
to ours.
MONA: it's the week end you can
rest
LILY: I'm working today honey
and besides I have
lot of
homework due for next week.
MONA: I slept so welll ...
LILY: you didn't hear anything?
MONA: nope... ( changing the
topic ) today is the
day I
am sooooooooo excited !!!!
LILY: have an interview?
MONA: No !!
come on Lil' what are you talking
about?

MONA: yes !
we are suppose to meet in this cafe (

LILY: good choice for a blind
date it's quite
cheap

LILY: I am not sarcastic , I
have just some doubts
on Mr

MONA: hey i'm not 16 ok? if I
don't like him we'll
just
talk and that's all. Finita la comedia
LILY: I know you... you're not

A telephon rings
Lily picks up while Mona opens
her computer.

* INT. DAY BEN'S LIVING ROOM
Dan , Ben's best friend is
sitting on the couch
whatching a children channel on
the tv, sleepy,
Ben after having staring at him
joins him . The
are both watching tv silently
until the telephone
rings
in Mona's appartment.
BEN: thanks for
waking me upDAN: (
always staring at the
tv , as if he was
hypnotised ) De nada
bro'BEN : first
time someone's waking
me up with
children
's cartoons.
DAN: ( taking
the tone of a mad
scientist) I wanted
to test some new
experiment on
you ...BEN: do you have
any idea who wrote
this telephone number
on
the mirror in the bathroom?
DAN: No idea... I
thought you would
know...
BEN: I didn't do
anything scandalous
last
night... The place is so messy now,
last time we 're
having a party here, I
sware.
DAN: too late I am already sheduling a
new
one next week end !
BEN: what?
DAN: just kidding...
The telephone is ringing
BEN: where is the damn
telephone
They both try to locate it. Dan
stands up, finds
the telephone under the sofa
DAN: got it!
Dan
picks up the telephone.
