Narrative Cinema and Production Practices at Berkeley combines the Film Theory curriculum with actual practice in Filmmaking. Through this education, CAL student filmmakers gain an understanding of story telling, from story to script to fully realized screen rendition, and acquire the tools necessary to turn their artistic vision into quality cinema.

Over the past few years, UC Berkeley student filmmakers have been making a name for themselves within the student film community and beyond.  UCB’s video-art pieces, documentaries, and narrative shorts have consistently found their way into many local showcases and to the winning circle of competitions such as the Eisner Prize and Campus Movie Fest. Their films have been featured regularly at Pacific Film Archive’s Student Film & Video Makers at CAL  and at Film Festivals from Abilene to Berlin.

It is with this group of advanced students that the actors will be working.
